For owners
- Sign in at ofielo.com. Enter your name and email, then type the code we email you. There's no password.
- Create your project. Tap Add. Give the project a name and location, pick the currency, and list the stages of work. For each stage, set the amount you'll pay and the proof you want first, one item per line (for example, “Photo of the front wall”).
- Invite your contractor. On the project page, tap Create invite link and send it to them on WhatsApp. The link works once.
- Pin the build site. In Google Maps, press and hold the site until a pin drops, then paste the link or numbers under Build site. Or ask your contractor to tap “Pin the site from here” while standing on site. Proof can only be taken near this pin.
- Add a co-owner if you like. Sharing the cost with a spouse or sibling? Under People on this project, create a Co-owner, view only invite. They see every stage, photo and payment, but only you can approve or pay.
- Turn on WhatsApp alerts. In Profile, add your WhatsApp number starting with + and your country code, tick the box and save. You'll hear when proof arrives.
- Review each stage. Open the stage, look at every photo and video, and check the time and distance from site shown on each. Tap Approve, or Request changes with a note explaining what's missing.
- Check material deliveries. Under Materials on your project, see every delivery of sand, cement, iron rods and other supplies, with photos from the site and running totals. Confirm each one, or raise a query if the photos don't match what was reported.
- Pay, then record it. Approving does not send money. Pay your contractor the way you normally do (bank, Remitly, mobile money), then tap Record payment so both of you have the record.
Ofielo does not hold or move money, and proof is your contractor's evidence, not an inspection. For work that matters, such as foundations, roofing and wiring, consider having someone you trust or a qualified inspector check it in person.
