Good to know
Does Ofielo hold my money?
No. Ofielo is not a bank or escrow service. You pay your contractor the way you do today (bank transfer, Remitly, mobile money) and record the payment in Ofielo so both of you have the record.
Is the proof an inspection?
No. It’s your contractor’s evidence, checked for place and time. For important work such as foundations, roofing and wiring, consider having someone you trust or a qualified inspector look in person.
Does my contractor need an app?
No download. They open the invite link you send, sign in with their email, and use the camera in the phone’s browser.
Where does it work?
Anywhere your contractor has a phone with a camera, GPS and a data connection. It was designed with builds in Liberia and Ghana in mind.
Who can see my project?
Only the people on it: you, your contractor, and anyone you invite as a view-only co-owner, such as a spouse or sibling. Read our Privacy Policy.
